Membership Categories & Eligibility Criteria
Student Membership
Student Membership Eligibility Criteria:
Enrolled in a post-secondary institution (university, college, or equivalent).
Demonstrates an interest in or is actively pursuing a career in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E).
Pledges to align with the vision, mission, and objectives of the NAE.
Associate Membership
This membership is open to young and emerging evaluators and individuals who may not necessarily be evaluation practitioners but are passionate about evaluation and willing to make a contribution in the field and are on their path to growth within the evaluation sector.
Associate Membership Eligibility Criteria:
Participation in at least one M&E-related conference, webinar, seminar, or similar professional development activity.
A demonstrated commitment to the ideals and objectives of the NAE.
A recommendation from a full member in good standing within the Association.
Individual Membership
Individual membership is open to evaluation practitioners and specialists who align with the NAE’s vision, mission, and objectives.
Individual Membership Eligibility Criteria:
Holds recognized academic or professional qualifications, including:
Higher education or professional training in M&E or a related discipline, OR
A higher education qualification (degree or HND) with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in M&E.
Aligns with and commits to the vision, mission, and objectives of the NAE.
Submits an application subject to review and approval by the Secretariate.
Pays applicable registration and annual subscription fees.
Fellowship Membership
The association recognizes Founding Fellows who are the Inaugural Board of Trustees and the Interim National Executive Council of the association. There are also fellowships conferred to individuals.
Fellowship Eligibility Criteria:
A recognized specialist in Monitoring & Evaluation.
Conducted impactful research, training, or knowledge creation in M&E.
Possesses a minimum of 10 years of professional practice in M&E.
Has made outstanding contributions to the development of M&E at the national, regional, or global levels.
All intending Fellows shall apply for fellowship via a letter to secgen@nigeriaevaluators.org Individual fellowships shall be determined annually by the body of Fellows and approved by the Governing Council.
Institutional Membership
Institutional membership is available at two levels:
Full Institutional Membership: Open to public and private institutions, as well as nonprofits, with in-house capacity to conduct evaluations.
Associate Institutional Membership: Designed for institutions that support development activities or are interested in building evaluation capacity but lack in-house evaluation expertise.
Institutional Membership Terms:
Institutional membership is granted upon application, approval, and payment of applicable fees.
Designated staff members of institutional members are recognized as members under the institution’s umbrella. Institutions have one collective vote, while staff can vote individually only if they hold individual memberships.
Honorary Membership
Honorary membership is conferred upon individuals or institutions who have made exceptional contributions to the field of evaluation. These members are exempt from registration and annual subscription fees but are welcome to make donations.
Honorary membership Eligibility and Process:
Members may nominate individuals or institutions for Honorary Membership.
Approval is subject to the Governing Council.
Honorary members are exempt from registration and annual subscription fees.
The Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE) welcomes individuals, institutions, organizations, and corporations committed to advancing the practice and culture of evaluation. Membership categories, eligibility criteria, and associated requirements are outlined below:
New Member Registration
Intending members who meet the criteria for membership must complete an application form.
Upon verification of their eligibility, they are required to pay a registration fee to join the Association.
Once registered, members must pay annual membership dues to maintain active status.
All intending Fellow shall apply for fellowship. Individual fellowships shall be determined annually by the body of Fellows and approved by the Governing Council.
Annual Membership Renewal
All membership dues align with the calendar year and elapse on 31 December annually.
Members must renew their dues starting from 1 January each year.
Members who fail to renew by 31 January will be designated as Inactive.
